My materials are the common, overlooked objects we live with: typewriters, boots, a basketball.  They are altered and reinterpreted in order to build on their inherent visual and interactive qualities.  The resulting work plays with notions of function, identity, accessibility, and perception in a literal and social context.  There is purpose in its ambiguity and familiarity.  One opens a door to the work, while the other allows the viewer to find its potential direction, through individual subjective experience.
