Every particular in nature, a leaf, a drop, a crystal, a moment of time is Related to the whole, and partakes of the perfection of the whole… So intimate is this Unity, that it is easily seen, it lies under the undermost Garment of nature, and betrays it source in universal spirit.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nature

My work centers around the integration of figuration and abstraction as a metaphor for the relationship between the body and spirit. It is an exploration of mysticism found in nature as an alternative to a culture dominated by French fries, SUVs, and television. Its form reflects a conscientious objection from pop-culture and consumerism, and adopts more metaphysical inspirations such as Antonin Hudacek, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Islamic art, and fractal related geometries.
